I haven't published charity pattern for a while.  With the fall approaching and very soon to be a bitter cold winter, I hope you will support this work and donate generously to your local cats / animals shelters, when using it in whole or part, to keep stray animals warm and safe

Materials

Yarn, worsted weight, non mercerized cotton, 1.6 oz. / 44 g, 70.3 yd. / 64.2 m

Knitting needles, straight, circular or double point, size 3.50 mm / US 4, one (1) pair

Scissors and yarn needle


Gauge (Pre block, stockinette stitch in situ)

4" x 4" / 10 cm x 10 cm   18 sts x 32 rows


Measurement (Pre block)

Length x Width 9" x 9 3/4" / 22.9 cm x 24.8 cm

Working on RS and knit up to Po in the pattern,

Step 1   Focusing on the first stitch on left (holding) needle, (k1, p1, k1) into the same stitch.  Drop the mother stitch (+2 sts)

Step 2   Focusing on the three (3) newly made stitches on right (working) needle, with yarn in back, pass the two (2) stitches on the right over the one on left (-2)


Pattern

Using 3.50 mm / US 4 knitting needle, CO 44 sts using long tail cast on

Start knitting in flat rows (knitting chart at the end of the pattern)

Rows 1 (RS) - 7  sl1wyif, k to end of row (k43)

Row 8 (WS) and following even number / WS rows unless otherwise stated       sl1wyif, k3, p until last 4 sts (p36), k4

It is getting hotter and hotter here.  Moo Moo and Tabby is ready to unzip their fur coats and change into Sphinxes. Furballs' Treelings start Growing 傻貓樹苗開始長高

This small pattern had been in my back burner for a long time.  Now I finally have the time to update it and knit tested.  This is the first attempt and mix and match the pine tree stitches of various sizes.  The size of this piece is good for being a coaster and hope you will enjoy knitting it. Furballs & the Granite Stone

I came across the granite stitch a few month back on YouTube.   It is a four (4) row repeat knit pattern that is easy to execute and a no brainer to remember.   Even when your furballs meow and distract you, I do not think you will be lost in this simple pattern.  This pattern is also a fast knit as it is made of three (3) rows of stockinette and one (1) row of garter, so the height is building up as expected and see "result" quick.  It is a good stitch pattern to consider for your travelling project. The granite stitch is a very interesting stitch pattern that has not shown up much in knitting design (or maybe it has but the designer(s) did not mention it).   I had used it in at least one of my design (not yet published, pattern still need improvement when I have time to go back to it again).  When looking from afar, it really resembles crochet stitches.   Though it has no yarn twisting (as in crochet) to give it the strength, the decrea...
